Walking and trekking in the Alpujarra, Andalucia

Our experience in guided walking holidays in Andalucia and our knowledge of the Alpujarra is exceptional as Carole was living in Spain walking and leading treks here ten years before any other hiking or trekking company. Week itineraries and 1 day guided walks.

As much as possible we keep to unmarked tracks and it's rare to see another walker on the trails.  The routes can be rocky and you will need good hiking boots, but at other times you may be on woodland paths that are soft underfoot. There will be some steep ascents and descents but your guide will not rush you and you will not be left behind.

Bear in mind that you will find walking in Spain easier in the cooler months.  You will always be able to take a breather and there are often bar stops (with good tapas) and of course a relaxed picnic lunch.  The scenery is superb, with magnificent views and an abundance of plant and bird life. As a destination for walking Spain is hard to beat.

On the Sierra Nevada holiday and our Andalucia Winter Walks we generally walk between approximately 10 and 15 miles each day. On the 'Alpujarra & 4 Sierras' trek the hiking is a bit more demanding. On Tailor-made and Special Interest trips we can be more flexible and adjust the walks to your wishes and capabilities, as we also do on our day hikes.

Dates and itineraries of day walks to join from Orgiva, in the Alpujarra, Spain.

Our one week Andalucia walking holidays have a minimum age limit of 18.
